I’m linked, wooh!

Ken, from adventure unicyclist, is linking me in his blog about road and mountain unicycling. Good advices and encouraging stories about other tours there, take-a-look-take-a-look.

Find the post here. Oh dear, now I’m famous, can’t chicken!

Thanks, Ken.

HoF: Martin Turner

Because traveling alone doesn’t mean having no help in the way, and because I think the people who will (I hope they will) be helping me in the trip deserve a special acknowledgement, I’m starting this section. Here I will be posting who and how helped me during my way (real names and pictures will vary from subject to subject ;) ).

My first benefactor is Marting Turner, the man behind (or in front) Hong Kong Unihockey group, Hong Kong Critical Mass and involved in maybe thousands of one and two wheels projects (just google him!).

But enough of his bio. Martin is here because I’m borrowing his 36” Coker, unicycle that is going to cut the pedalling days from 10 to 7 and the riding hours from 4 to 3 (at least I hope so).

Bellow, a picture of the man and the wheel.

Martin Turner and his Coker

Thanks, Martin!

Hello World

Funny idea, going from Barcelona to Montpelier by unicycle following the Catalan and south French coasts carrying just a small bag and without any assistance or companion.

The goals? Survive, have fun, meet people and spend as less as possible trying to survive out of the kindness of people in the road.

The whole trip is 428km long and should take from 9th to 18th of July, riding for three hours a day and having some free days in the way. More about the itinerary here and there is a live update widget at the bottom of the page showing my current location (no cheating here!).

Since I’m riding on my own, my French is worst than null and I haven’t really planned the trip beyond the route, I’m open to any kind of help/sponsorship, from a place to crash to a nice meal, advices, cheer ups, … I’m also looking for a Spanish translator to maintain a version of this blog in that language (my family will be extremely happy to be able to read this) and/or someone to fix my poor grammar ;)

Feel free to post a comment if you have any suggestions.

(I’ll be updating this as the day comes closer)
